wingspan - 60-90mm, wing colour - black/blue/brown/orange, eye colour - brown, proboscis colour - yellow, antennae colour - brown with orange tip, abdomen colour - brown, leg colour - white/brown, flight -powerful
female is larger with slightly different colouration and the forewing apex has a longer point

Nectar: Lantana camara (Verbenaceae) only rarely visits flowers
