Cyrestis nivea is not very common and like many species in this subfamily little research seems to have been done and so what we know about them is limited. Both sexes are similar in appearance. They are often found resting on the underside of leaves with their wings outstretched.

Regional subspecies: Cyrestis nivea baliensis (Bali-Indonesia), Cyrestis nivea nivalis (Myanmar, Thailand, W.Malaysia, Sumatra-Indonesia), Cyrestis nivea nivea (Java-Indonesia), Cyrestis nivea superbus (Palawan-Philippines), Cyrestis nivea tonkiniana (Laos, Vietnam, Yunnan-China). There are a few others listed for various islands in Indonesia but it is uncertain if they are valid.
Regional Distribution: Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines
Habitat: Cyrestis nivea is found in primary and secondary forest, usually at low elevations below 500m a.s.l.
Flight time: all year, depending on location Wingspan: 40-50mm
Life History: not known
Larval Hosts: Ficus rumphii (Moraceae). There are probably others (maybe Ficus sp. or other from the Moraceae family) that have not been recorded.
Adult Food Sources: Nectar - not known to visit flowers. Other - mud puddling
