An uncommon species although quite widespread. Most often seen when puddling but doesn't usually congregate with other species. Strong and rapid flight. Probably multivoltine but there is little information available and more research on this species is needed.

Regional Distribution: India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines
Habitat: primary rainforest and deciduous montane forest up to 800m a.s.l. Wingspan: 60-75mm
Flight time: possibly much of the year but excluding the coldest months, depending on location
Larval Hosts: Archidendron jiringa, Senna tora, Wisteriopsis reticulata, Acacia sp. (Fabaceae)
Adult Food Sources: Nectar - not known to visit flowers. Other - mud puddling, animal dung & urine, carrion
