An uncommon species that is limited to the northern parts of the region. Probably only one or two broods per annum depending on location. Strong and rapid flight. Males are very territorial.

Synonyms:    Eriboea dolon, Charaxes dolon

Taxonomy:  Animalia - Arthropoda - Insecta - Lepidoptera - Nymphalidae - Charaxinae - Polyura - dolon

Regional Distribution:  India, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, China

Habitat:  wide range of forest habitats up to 2200m a.s.l.                                                  Wingspan:  60-75mm

Flight time:  February to August ?

Larval Hosts:  not known but likely to be Rhamnaceae or Fabaceae species

Adult Food Sources:  Nectar - not known to visit flowers.  Other - mud puddling, animal dung
