The distribution of Euthalia franciae is mainly confined to the northern part of the region and the species is not common. The sexes are similar in appearance but the female is significantly larger and the underwings are paler in colour.  There are also seasonal variations. Bivoltine with only two broods per annum. This species is not well known and further in-depth study is much needed.

Regional Distribution:  India, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, China

Habitat:  Euthalia franciae is found in dense forest areas and has been recorded at elevations up to 1800m a.s.l.

Flight time:  March to November, depending                                    Wingspan:  70-90mm

Larval Hosts:  not known as hosts have not yet been recorded.

Adult Food Sources:  Nectar - not known if this species visits flowers for nectar.  Other - mud puddling, rotting fruit
