Euthalia evelina is widespread throughout the region and can be locally common. It is dimorphic but the sexes look similar to each other except for a wide white band on the upper forewings of the female. It is multivoltine with several broods per annum. Information about this species is sketchy and further study is needed.

Regional Subspecies: Euthalia evelina annamita (Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Yunnan-China), E.evelina compta (S.Thailand, W.Malaysia, Singapore), E.evelina eva (Philippines), E.evelina proditrix (Philippines), E.evelina tyawena (Palawan-Philippines), E.evelina vallona (Myanmar, W.Thailand). There are also a number of different subspecies scattered throughout the islands of Indonesia.

Regional Distribution:  India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines

Habitat:  Euthalia evelina is found in both tropical and subtropical broadleaf forest. It doesn't usually venture into urban areas. It has been recorded at elevations up to 800m a.s.l.

Flight time:  most of the year, depending on location                       Wingspan:  70-90mm

Larval Hosts:  Anacardium occidentale (Anacardiaceae), Diospyros blancoi, Diospyros candolleana, Diospyros malabarica, Diospyros melanoxylon (Ebenaceae), Lithocarpus sp. (Fagaceae), Garcinia dulcis (Clusiaceae).  Hosts used depends upon location and availability of plant species.

Adult Food Sources:  Nectar - it is not known if this species visits flowers for nectar.  Other - mud puddling, over-ripe fruit, tree sap
