Distributed across a large part of the region and uncommon. The species is sexually dimorphic with some differences in appearance and the female being a little larger in size. Generally the male is darker and the white markings on the female are quite variable and fade quickly. Essentially a forest species that prefers shade. Multivoltine with several broods per annum but not much is known about this species and more research needs to be done.

Regional Distribution:  India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, China

Habitat:   montane forest, up to 1200m a.s.l.                                                    Wingspan:  60-75mm

Flight time:  most of the year, depending on location

Larval Hosts:  not known

Adult Food Sources:  Nectar - not known if this species visits flowers.  Other - mud puddling (occasional), over-ripe fruit
